Kamini & Suren

Sunday, June 15th, 2014

Kamini & Suren have been married for 20 years and live in Johannesburg.  They wanted to renew their vows on their 20th wedding anniversary and planned a special intimate ceremony in Cape Town.  They stayed at Whale View Manor Guest House in Simonstown and Dominique organised all the details of the day to usual perfection.   The morning of their ceremony it poured with rain and by the afternoon we were lucky enough to have a gap in the weather so we could go down to the beach which was great.  All the best and enjoy your photos.

Tuesday, April 29th, 2014

Chrissie and Peter chose to celebrate their big day with close family and friends at the beautiful setting of Whale View Manor Guest House in Simons Town.  Chrissie looked a dream in her golden wedding gown and both her and Peter were just beaming with love.  The weather was perfect and after the ceremony in the courtyard, we walked across the road to the beach for some photos.  Thank you for choosing me to capture your wedding and all the best for your future together.  Here are a couple of my favourite ones to tell the story.

Valeri & Natalia – Llandudno Beach

Saturday, February 1st, 2014

Valeri and Natalia live in Germany and chose our beautiful city as the spot to celebrate their love.    I loved Natalia’s dress and especially the pop of colour in both their outfits.  We met at the Dreamhouse Guesthouse in Hout Bay to do the legal part of the ceremony and then headed down to Llandudno Beach for the ring ceremony and some photos.   Thank you Christiane for planning another special wedding and for referring me as photographer.  To Valeri and Natalia, I wish you many happy years together.  Here are a couple of photos.

February 2014 – Say I Love You

Saturday, February 1st, 2014

We are almost through half of February and at the beginning of the year, I committed to sharing something every month that inspired me.     This month is all about love and gratitude for me.       Love it not just a feeling, love is an action……love is a choice.    There are so many cheesy sounding quotes and poems about love but when I put my mind aside for a moment and read them with my heart,  they  resonate and for that I am grateful.      To love and be loved is life’s greatest gift.   There is so much grace and connection when we allow love.  So I leave you with “I Love You” and I invite you to say the same each time you are tempted to say just one more thing.

Katharina & Christian

Thursday, January 30th, 2014

Christian proposed to Katharina in Cape Town a  year ago and so it was the perfect place to come back to with their family and close friends to celebrate their special day.   I met everyone at the beautiful  Acorn House in Oranjezicht where the legal part of the ceremony took place.  We then enjoyed some decadent chocolate cake and drinks before heading down to Oudekraal Beach for the ring ceremony.     Before leaving, Katharina changed into her “surprise” dress – you looked so beautiful.  The weather held out for us until just before sunset when the rain came down and we then moved on to have dinner at The Roundhouse in Camps Bay.  I enjoyed meeting you all and wish you both a very happy and blessed life together.  Here are a couple of photos to tell the story of your special day.

January 2014 – Stay Positive

Monday, January 13th, 2014

A new year has started and with it comes new opportunities.  I must admit, that this new year filled me with mixed feelings as we started a new year without Simon here in person.    Every morning I wake up, I make the choice to be grateful for the day, so when I got a parcel in the mail the other day from my beautiful sister, Leilani, who lives in New Zealand, I just loved the Marci calendar she sent me.   It has an inspiring message for each month which I will share with everyone.  For January, the message is – Stay Positive – Oftentimes our path seems to be filled with roadblocks, and we wonder why life is so difficult.  Things happen that leave us feeling as though we have little control over our circumstances.  This is a time to remember that hope is a gift we can give to ourselves……When we choose this attitude and tap into our inner reserves, we are rewarded with the knowledge of what we have learned in life.  The decision to look forward, stay positive and remain hopeful is a key that unlocks the door to possibilities, and, when shared, returns to renew the spirit.  Hope is believing that miracles are possible!
